I love this artist/painter, Genevieve Pfieffer. I discovered her works earlier this year and many of her paintings in her collection have a feminine lady riding a bicycle, with a basket (Couture Cruiser's look) filled with pretty flowers. Notice the bird along for a ride on the back, her white dress as to not distract from the focal object, the bicycle, in the boldest colors on the canvas, particularly the two wheels, frame, and fenders. Observe her mood...she is carefree, confident and relaxed. This is depicted by the position of her head, facing up as if she hasn't a care in the world, her upright torso position, as well as the positioning of her feet, almost as if they are self propelled. The sitting bird also indicates that she is moving at a leisurely speed, and the meadow back drop reveals that the day is calm in the country. Her wide brimmed hat and striped socks protect her pale complexion and unveil that it is a sunny day. Genevieve's soothing color palette and flat brush strokes as well as a softened acrylic medium all convey her feelings quite well. This artist's collection is simply...beautiful~
